The quick answer is “no”. The detailed answer is “no and here’s why:”
We use 301 redirects to route traffic through Argyle to your target site. This basically means that if someone puts an Argyle link to your site on their site, you’ll still get all the SEO benefits of it. It will be as if they had actually put a link to your site directly into their site. 301 redirects are the SEO-friendly way to do redirects per our friends at Google.
If you’re still worried – then consider that Twitter, Facebook, and other social platforms have “no-follow” attributes on their site, meaning that any link on their respective platforms have no influence over the target site’s search engine rank. So anything that publish to a social site will not get any SEO juice anyway.
With regards to your brand name – you can customize the domain. It is really easy to set up and a great way to make sure that your name stands out in your URLs.
As much as we love ar.gy, we’d rather see you use yourdomain.me. :)
